The Architecture of This Course

Three Modes. One Unified Loop.

Every unit in this course activates one of three functional modes — the same modes that define spatial AI. Together they form the POMDP learning loop: Observe, Model, Act. By graduation, you will run the loop automatically.

“What does the world look like?”

You learn to enter worlds, not just observe them. Spatial prompt writing, Gaussian splatting, 3D scene grammar. The Renderer asks: is this world inhabitable?

You learn to model consequences. Physics, geometry, systems thinking. The Simulator asks: if I change this, what happens next?

Rendering is about more than beauty. Ask: does this world invite entry? Can a mind inhabit what you've described? The difference between a description and a world is the difference between telling and building.

Five Modules · 18 Weeks

Each module advances the loop: Render → Simulate → Plan → Integrate → Prove. SofAI tracks your progress across all five and personalizes the challenge level in real time.

Observation & Spatial Rendering

How do machines — and humans — build representations of reality? This module opens with the neuroscience of spatial memory, moves through computer vision and photogrammetry, and arrives at Gaussian splatting as the current frontier of spatial rendering. Students write their first spatial prompts and generate their first Marble worlds.

Simulation is the hardest problem in AI — and the most underrated in education. This module teaches students to think in systems: how a change in one variable propagates through a physical, social, or mathematical structure. SofAI presents you with simulated worlds that have hidden structural flaws — geometry that looks correct but breaks under navigation. Your task is to find them. SofAI calibrates difficulty to your current detection accuracy.

The Planner is the rarest skill in education and the most powerful in life. This module teaches students to design agents — AI and human — that observe states, build models, and act strategically. Students move from being acted upon by systems to being actors within them.

A world is not just a space. It is a story with physics — a sequence of states that carry meaning. This module teaches students to design worlds that teach: environments where the structure of the space encodes the structure of the knowledge. Students begin work on their capstone worlds.

SofAI reviews your capstone design brief and predicts which elements will succeed and which will confuse visitors. It generates synthetic visitor pathways through your planned world so you can debug the learning architecture before building it.

Capstone — Build, Deploy, Prove

The capstone is not a project. It is proof. Students build a Marble world on a subject of their choosing — one that renders the subject beautifully, simulates it structurally, and plans the learning path of its visitor. The world is then deployed to the Marble campus and navigated by peers, faculty, and partners including World Labs.
